The Alipukhuri Hotel and Restaurant is dedicated to the ancient name of Batadrava- that was Ali-Pukhuri. It is the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev. Later on Sankardev brought Akashiganga in a rainy and stormy night upon a big Peepal Tree ( Bot Gos) situated in the middle of Ali Pukhuri to settle the issue of scarcity of drinking water in the area. From that day, as the Bot Gos got submerged overnight under the Big Sarovar of Akashiganga, the place became famous as “Bata-drava” replacing the old name Ali Pukhuri. This restaurant is an attempt to represent the lost heritage of the area.
We are offering vegetarian rice thali to the pilgrims visiting the Batadrava Than in a minimum possible amount. Every food is freshly cooked and served daily as a token of our service to the community. Besides that we also offer different Indian and Chinese dishes for the youngsters taking into account today’s generations food tastes.
